You Can't Fight A Spiritual Battle with Physical Weapons

A Battle Bigger Than What We See

We are in the middle of a giant spiritual battle—one far bigger than our day-to-day problems and struggles.

But one thing must be made clear:

The Lord already has victory.

And one day, everyone will know that Jesus is Lord.

Why do I say this?

Because you need to know that truth in order to fight effectively.

You need:

  • faith
  • fear of the Lord

What the Fear of the Lord Really Means

When I say “fear of the Lord,” I do not mean fear like a child being scared of a monster in the closet.

I mean reverence.

The kind of fear a child has for a loving father:

  • wanting to make him proud
  • honoring him deeply
  • not wanting to live apart from him

Author and speaker John Bevere uses a word that beautifully describes this:

Awe.

To be truly in awe of God.

Accept What You Cannot Comprehend

If you want to grow stronger faith, there is something you must accept:

You will not know everything.
And you will not be able to comprehend everything.

We are told to trust the Lord wholeheartedly and not lean on our own understanding.

There will be things you go through that you will not understand until much later—and maybe not even while you are here on Earth.

Sometimes hardship comes because:

  • we live in a sinful world
  • others choose sin
  • or because we ourselves chose stubbornness and walked into difficult situations

Walking by Faith

You will not understand the reason behind every command God gives.

We are called to:

  • walk by faith and not by sight

And that means things will not always be clear.

Accept that there are things the Father will not explain fully.

And trust that when He speaks, it is exactly what you need to hear.

The Enemy’s Greatest Trap

One of the enemy’s greatest tactics is creating confusion and causing people to doubt:

  • God’s power
  • God’s commands
  • and God’s authority

And one trap I see often is the magnification of what appears to be a “void” where information should exist.

But many times, what looks like a void is actually:

  • ignorance
  • or lack of comprehension

For example:

People ask:
“How was God made?”

The truth is:

  • God was never created
  • and we will never fully comprehend His eternal nature

And that’s okay.

Understanding Kingdom Principles

I highly recommend the book Kingdom Principles by Myles Munroe.

Living in countries without kings or kingdom systems makes it harder for people to fully understand biblical Kingdom principles.

That is why it is important to intentionally study and shift your mindset.

Because whether people realize it or not—

We are part of God’s Kingdom.

The Enemy Has a Counterfeit Kingdom

The enemy does not operate according to God’s Kingdom principles.

Instead, he creates counterfeits.

He has his own counterfeit kingdom:

  • rankings
  • higher powers
  • evil servants
  • spiritual darkness

But here is what must be understood:

Every demon.
Every evil servant.
And Satan himself…

All know that Jesus is Lord.

Even now, they bow before Him.

He is:

  • King of Kings
  • Lord of Lords
  • the highest authority above all things

Understanding the Sacrifice

We must truly understand the sacrifice the Lord made for us.

Because if you do not understand the value and importance of His sacrifice…

You are missing the biggest piece.

Because of what Jesus did:

  • we are saved from eternal separation from God
  • we are invited into His Kingdom
  • we are adopted as His children

And because we are His children—

We inherit His Kingdom and His authority.

We have nothing to fear.

“You Don’t Have to Lift a Finger”

There is one final thing I want to share today—something the Lord Himself told me:

“You don’t have to lift a finger.”

For a long time, I found myself fighting spiritual battles incorrectly.

Even in dreams, I would:

  • hunt demons
  • try to capture them
  • physically bind them

I was relying mostly on my own strength first—and faith second.

But then the Lord showed me something different.

He showed me the authority and power we have through:

  • the blood of Jesus Christ
  • and faith in Him

And He reminded me:

You do not fight spiritual battles with physical weapons.

Final Reminder

The battle is spiritual.

Which means the victory does not come through:

  • human strength
  • control
  • fear
  • or striving

Victory comes through:

  • faith
  • surrender
  • authority in Christ
  • and trust in the Lord who already won the battle.
