The Heart Behind Doves in Progress
A Personal Beginning
Who I was 8 months ago isn’t who I am today.
Can you see a difference?
No.
But I can feel it.
Something within me has changed.
Something is growing.
Have you ever felt that?
When Effort Isn’t Enough
For years, I looked to others for guidance on how to become a godly wife, a woman of God, and a better person.
Those things aren’t wrong—but the message often came with pressure:
“Godly women have these habits.”
“A godly wife does A, B, and C.”
And no matter how hard I tried… I failed.
Again and again.
Yes, discipline matters.
Yes, we have to die to our flesh daily.
But my efforts alone never worked.
Because my heart needed to change.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules."
— Ezekiel 36:26–27
The Inner Struggle
My struggle has always been with my flesh.
It’s learning how to allow that change—the one I feel growing inside—to actually show in my life.
It doesn’t come naturally yet.
But now I have a heart that wants it. And all my works are beginning to align.
I long for the Lord more than I ever have before.
I want to please Him.
Why “Doves in Progress”?
This didn’t come from a business idea.
It came from a dream—one so powerful, I tattooed it on my back.
For most of my life, I resonated with the eagle:
- strength
- power
- vision
- war
I saw myself as someone who fought, pushed forward, and endured.
And honestly… that part of me is still there.
The Transformation
But in this dream, something changed.
After a painful breaking, I transformed into a dove.
And I didn’t want that.
How could I fight as a dove?
Where was my strength?
For years, I wrestled with that—until one moment changed everything. Someone told me, “The only animal the Holy Spirit is compared to is a dove.” (Luke 3:22)
Becoming a dove wasn’t weakness.
It was transformation.
A New Calling
I realized my journey wasn’t about becoming stronger in my own strength…
It was about becoming gentle, led, and filled with the Spirit.
What I heard clearly was:
“Peace is right in front of you—yet you choose war.”
What This Really Means
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
— Galatians 5:22
These aren’t things we can force through discipline alone.
Because God looks at the heart.
It won't matter how kind, gentle, or peace pursuing we are if we have hatred in our heart and need to display our own strength and power.
Faith Like Eagles, Hearts Like Doves
We are called to be like Jesus.
I kept my faith that I had as an eagle—
With this change I'd argue that my faith has become even stronger since then
Because now…
It’s time for something different.
We are called to be doves in a world where war is normal.
“The Lord is my strength…”
— Psalm 28:7
What I Want to Share With You
Gentle as doves. Faith like eagles.
This space is for the person who is ready to:
- stop living by their own strength
- stop chasing perfection
- grow in faith and fear of the Lord
- pursue God deeply
- walk in peace and purpose
A Loving but Honest Truth
I believe many people have more faith in themselves than they do in God. More faith in their own judgement of themselves that they don't see they risk being judged alongside those who turned from God.
This isn’t to bring fear.
I rebuke fear and demand it back down in Jesus’ name.
And I pray that you receive His peace.
You Are Called
When you fear the Lord and seek Him wholeheartedly—
You have nothing to fear.
You are His beloved.
You are not behind.
You are not disqualified.
An Invitation
He has given us time.
He has given us grace.
And maybe…
You’re being called to become a dove too.
